For anyone who is interested in word games, scrabble games, Word With Friends has to be the best app out there.

It’s a scrabble imitator, but it is far better than what Scrabble put out.  The Scrabble version is lame, slow, and obnoxious.  On the flip side, Word With Friends is clean, easy to use, fast, and satisfying!

You can play with your friends, or strangers. You’re also alerted with a badge or a notification when it’s your turn.  The app checks your moves, and lets you know if it can be played. Not only is it fun, I actually learned a lot of new words in the process.

I definitely give this 5 stars.

I love this app. I barely use the Google Analytics website anymore. It appeals to my obsessive compulsive curiosities and I check my stats almost daily. It costs a few bucks but I recommend it highly.

There are a lot of opinions about the iPhone floating out there.  You can scientifically compare the device side by side with the Palm Pre and the host of other copycat handsets out there.  You can read analysts’ commentary, whose more than educated summaries discuss the viability and limitations of the device.  And they are all blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

And then there are those who resist the iPhone due to the fact that it’s popular and maybe hip.  The inner counter-culturalist is objecting on principle, so they stick to their Blackberrys.

If you speak to anyone about their iPhone, I am certain you will hear a resounding exclamation of love.  I admit, I don’t really pay any attention to objections about the device and its limitations from people who don’t have the iPhone.  Once you own it and allow it to integrate into your life, the only thing you can do is marvel at its brilliance.  It removes so many of my own limitations that I tend to forget the phone has any.  Every time I speak to an iPhone owner, they can’t say enough good things.

This afternoon I decided to kick back and take in a movie at the last minute. I pull out my iPhone and fired up this great app called Movies by Flixster! Anyone with more than 1 friend knows it’s impossible to get everyone to agree on a time, place, and movie in time to make the showing. Movies by Flixter makes it easy by giving you all the data all in one place.

I can do all the typical stuff you’d expect from a movie app like movie times, theaters location and contact info, and movie ratings. But the best part is that I can also watch previews, check out what’s coming soon not only in theaters but on DVD, and contribute my own ratings to the community. If you have a Facebook account, you can have the app log into it and post your movie ratings to share with your friends.

Ratings from several sites are offered too. I can see what other Flixster users rate, as well as Rotten Tomatoes, and even jump into IMDb to check out the skinny there.

Travelocity recently came out with this great app. One thing that always bothered me was having to check my travel details online or transcribe them into a calendar item on my calendar. Now, Travelocity came up with this great app that grabs data from your Travelocity account and displays it on your phone.

Along with your travel details (which I no longer need to move around), I get security wait times, gate information, and I can even search for hotels if my plans change. If you book on Travelocity, this is a GREAT app to have.

It’s snowing today in Denver. I checked it with the built-in app. I also checked the weather where all of my friends live and in Europe and Australia. It’s amazing how obsessive one can get about this once the information is there.

I won’t go snowboarding as I doubt the roads into the moutains are safe at this point. I will stay home and work… bummer. We’ll thaw out tomorrow and maybe I’ll go then.
